Adult study opportunity for the fall
Sam is planning to lead a study of the book, Unbinding the Gospel: Real Life Evangelism. This is a participatory study, designed to energize, inspire, and equip Christians to share their faith. Promotional material from Chalice Press, the publisher of the book says:
Unbinding the Gospel: Real Life Evangelism is a book for pastors and congregations who want to embrace evangelism for the 21st century. Based on a major, four-year study of superb evangelism, funded by the Lilly Endowment, Unbinding the Gospel sparkles with life, practicality and spiritual depth. Selected by The Christian Century as a featured “Take and Read” book, Unbinding the Gospel is a book for Christians who want a hopeful, powerful, joy-filled way to learn to share their faith. (It’s also a book for people who cringe when they hear the “E” word!) This book for congregational use has been enthusiastically endorsed by 8 heads of denominations, Brian McLaren, Richard Peace, as well as by countless pastors and church leaders.
This is an 8-week study. I’ll teach the class on Sunday afternoons at a time agreeable to the group, and need to know how many books to order. So if you wish to take part, please respond to the office as soon as you can. Even if we don’t get started until the first Sunday of October, we still have time to finish before Thanksgiving.
