2022 Stewardship Campaign

Cazenovia Presbyterian Stewardship

1 Peter 4:8-11

Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.  Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling.  Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.  If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen.

“This verse reflects back on the double love command, calling for love. And one way that love is expressed is by giving generously to provide hospitality and serve our “neighbors.” This verse also reminds us that we are recipients of the incredible gift of God’s grace, and we are called to steward that gift by serving others. Ultimately, our giving is one way that we can glorify God and point to God’s amazing love and grace for all of us, and that should be cause for generosity and celebration!” — Greg Allen-Pickett

The time for Cazenovia Presbyterians to make commitments for 2022 has arrived! The above verses from 1 Peter and Allen-Pickett’s reflection provide inspiration for us as we give financially and through service. Though inflation has begun to cause financial shortfalls in our lives, we encourage everyone in First Presbyterian Church to join together for support, nurturing, hope, and shared commitment, as we cope with the challenges we face. May we find the strength both for voluntary service, and for making a financial pledge, as generous as our responsibilities will allow. As stewards of God’s grace, “doing” for FPC on a board of Deacons, Trustees, Session and its committees or continuing our current service, offers many opportunities to share our talents. Volunteering at FPC or in the broader community are all ways of service reflecting God’s grace. Please review the enclosed pledge form. Completed pledges may be mailed, scanned and emailed, or dropped at the church office or in the collection plate before or after worship. Alternatively, the church website offers a way to make your pledge online (go to https://cazpres.org/stewardship). Your pledge allows us to plan accurately for the church’s financial needs, and we thank you for your careful consideration of how you can do your part.   Sincerely, Your Stewardship Committee (Craig Buckhout, Chris Jenner, Brad Johnson, Steve McEntee, Susan Palmer-Everly, Sam Pendergrast, ex-officio)

My Stewardship Commitment

Grateful for God’s love revealed in Jesus Christ, and to keep the promise I made when I became an active member, I pledge, as evidence of my stewardship to Christ’s mission, to give through my church.
